Joseph "Don" Pelletier died Nov. 12, 2013, after an accident near his home in Paonia. He was 75.
Joseph Donald Germain Pelletier was born in Fort Kent, Maine, May 5, 1938.
Following high school graduation his joined the U.S. Air Force.
He married Betty Boeing in the summer of 1976 in Aspen. They moved to California for a number of years and returned to Paonia in 1990.
Mr. Pelletier was a craftsman and carpenter of custom doors and cabinets.
He had a pilot's license. He enjoyed aircraft, the outdoors, water and snow skiing and shooting sports.
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Josette (Bill) Hynes of Centennial; son, Danny (Diana) Pelletier of Orange County, Calif.; four grandchildren, Nora, Will, Vivi and Cyr Hynes; siblings, Romeo (Sandy) Pelletier of Lake Havasu, Ariz., Fabiola Parent of Buffalo, N.Y., and Gloria Forten of Canada; and numerouse nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
