Marilyn Forstadt of Hotchkiss died Dec. 11, 2013. She was 89.
Marilyn Ann Melinsky was born in Superior July 24, 1924, to Alex and Anna (Kosch) Melinsky. She graduated from Ramah High School in 1942.
She installed radios in B-17 bombers during World War II.
She married Marvin Forstadt in June 1951 in Denver. They were married 62 years before his death on Nov. 26, 2013.
Mrs. Forstadt was a homemaker, dressmaker and fashion consultant.
From 1985 until 1995 she and her husband owned and operated the Giant Oaks Motel in Running Springs, Calif., where she was a member of the Soroptimist Club.
She is survived by four sons, Robert Becker of Sacramento, Calif., David Forstadt and Jeremy Forstadt, both of Napa, Calif., and Michael Forstadt of Providence, R.I.; two daughters, Rebecca Olkowski of Los Angeles, Calif., and Janet LeRoy of Hotchkiss; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and three sisters.
Inurnment took place Dec. 13 at Veterans Memorial Cemetery Columbarium in Grand Junction.
