May Germann, formerly of Delta County, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at the La Villa Grande Care Center in Grand Junction. She was 98.
A graveside service was held at Delta City Cemetery Dec. 14.
May Kirkpatrick was born in Marble Hill, Mo., Nov. 27, 1915, to Ollie and Ida May (McPherson) Kirkpatrick. She spent her childhood in Marble Hill and attended school in Lutesville, Mo. She graduated from Lutesville High School in 1935.
On June 10, 1939, she married Arnold Germann in St. Charles, Mo. They lived in Lutesville and Greenfield, Mo., and in Greeley, Delta and Olathe. He died in Delta on May 26, 2000, and Mrs. Germann moved to Grand Junction in 2001.
A retired secretary, she enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family. She was a member of Delta Christian Church.
She is survived by two sons, Arnold Germann Jr. of Greeley and Ronald (Petria) Germann of Delta; two daughters, Elouise Rossler of Ten Sleep, Wyo., and Donna (Tom) Edwards of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren, Alan Rossler, Ryan Rossler, Staci Sword, Scott Germann, Vicki Lightsey, Traci Russell, Kandi Faller, Janelle Kelley, Justin Germann and Brandi Brabo; and 18 great-grandchildren, Jessa Mae, Landri, Piper, Madison, Keeley, Kylie, Zachery, Tyler, Acacia, Parker, Jordyn, Kaylee, Nathaniel, Olivia, Anderson, Austin, Cheyenne and Peter Justin.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Arnold Germann; four brothers; and one son, Donald Germann.
Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory handled the arrangements.
