Lois Blowey of Cory died Dec. 12, 2013, at Delta County Memorial Hospital. She was 81.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 29, at Cedaredge Community United Methodist Church.
Lois Maxine DeWitt was born in Howard, Kan., July 7, 1932, to Harold and Stella (Greenwood) DeWitt. She spent most of her childhood in Howard, Kan., graduating from Howard High School.
She married Harry E. Blowey Feb. 13, 1953, in Wichita, Kan.
Mrs. Blowey enjoyed her family, reading, sewing, traveling and gardening.
She was involved with VFW as well as Cedaredge Community United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Blowey is survived by three sons, Martin Blowey of Central City, Stann (Carla) Blowey of Montrose and Mark (Jenna) Courage of Littleton; two daughters, Sandra Curry of Cory and Linda Blowey of Camden, Del.; a sister, Kay (Gary) Sheffer of Colorado; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Blowey; a grandson, Kevin Blowey; two brothers; and a sister.
