Josephine Gore died Dec. 20, 2013, after a brief illness. She was 92.
Josephine Mae Beach was born on California Mesa near Delta May 26, 1921, to Floyd and Dora (Klepper) Beach.
She grew up on the family ranch and was involved in ranching and cattle all her life.
On Jan. 3, 1939, she married Wayne Gore.
Mrs. Gore helped found the Delta County Historical Society and Museum and the Altrusa Club of Delta. She was involved with the Delta County Livestock Association and was state president of the Cowbelles organization.
She was Delta County clerk and recorder for 10 years.
Mrs. Gore enjoyed cooking and collecting antiques and arrowheads.
She is survived by her sons, Richard of Olathe and Tom (Paula) of Delta; grandson, Ian of Delta; granddaughter Katie Jo and fiancé Matt Matusio of Fountain; and her brother, Melvin Beach of Olathe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne in 1980; and her sisters, Millie Gavin and Coral.
Viewing will be held Saturday, Dec. 28, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta. Services will be at 2 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta.
