Rosie Filener of Molalla, Ore., died Dec. 29, 2013, on her 88th birthday.
A funeral service was held Jan. 4 at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta.
Burial followed at Crawford Cemetery.
Rosie Everetta Shilling was born in Delta Dec. 29, 1925, to Al and Clara Shilling.
She married Millard Filener in Olathe April 24, 1945.
She worked for Western Union in Colorado and New Mexico and retired in St. Louis, Mo.
The couple moved to Cody, Wyo., where they operated a large shoe repair and leather goods shop until retiring a second time. In 1988 they moved to Portland, Ore., where Millard died in 1996. They celebrated 51 years of marriage.
She married Alton Sullivan in Portland, Ore., Sept. 15, 2001. In 2006 they moved to Woodburn, Ore., where they lived until moving to assisted living in Molalla, Ore. He preceded her in death.
She enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by three sons, Lee (Connie) Filener of Phoenix, Ariz., David (Cheryl) Filener of Cody, Wyo., and Bruce (Jane) Filener of Lusk, Wyo.; six grandchildren, Kim Brist, Wes Filener, Andrea Morrison, Nathan Filener, Chantry Filener and Cleve Filener; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.blog comments powered by Disqus
