Iris Marconnett died Jan. 4, 2014, at Horizons Care Center in Eckert. She was 80.

Iris W. Krupp was born in Kinsley, Kan., April 29, 1933, to George and Meta (Boness) Krupp. She spent her childhood and grew up in the Kinsley, Kan., area.
She married Paul Marconnett in the mid 1950s. The marriage ended in divorce.
Mrs. Marconnett raised her family in Grand Junction after moving from Dodge City, Kan., in the 1970s. She moved to the Delta area in the late 1990s.
She enjoyed art, particularly drawing, flowers, cats, fishing and watching birds.
She is survived by her son, Kevin Marconnett of Grand Junction; her daughters, Susanne Marconnett of Cedaredge and Kimberly (Dennis) Knight of Grand Junction; a sister, Evelyn Wilkerson of Larned, Kan.; a grandson, Troy Claussen of Craig; a great-granddaughter, Ariel Claussen of Craig; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Todd Marconnett; four sisters, Elizabeth Regnier, Erma Dixon, Dorothy Collinvitti and Gerda Showalter; and a brother, Amiel Fischer.
Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory handled the arrangements.
