John Christopher Saldana of Hotchkiss died after a brief illness on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, in Grand Junction. He was 29.
Mr. Saldana was born March 16, 1983, in Santa Cruz County, Calif., to Stella Nelson. He and his family moved to Phoenix, Ariz., where he attended high school.
He was a caregiver and ranch foreman for Blue Luna Ranch for nine years on Redlands Mesa. He enjoyed comedy, photography, sports, especially basketball, and spending time outdoors with friends and family.
Mr. Saldana is survived by his parents, Stella and Donald Larimer; three brothers, Cameron Dunn, Adrian Coletta and Adam Coletta; his grandmother, Alta Nelson; an uncle, Jerry Nelson; his grandparents, George and Donna McFarland; and his great-grandmother, Lois Roberts, all of Hotchkiss; and numerous aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 7, at 1 p.m. at Rogers Mesa Community House.
