Lifetime Delta resident Edith Marlene Shea died Jan. 28, 2014, at her home. She was 59.
A rosary was spoken Feb. 3 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Delta. Mass of the Resurrection followed, with Rev. Richard Haldane officiating.
She was born in Delta Nov. 10, 1954, to John "Jack" and Ozella (Allmon) Shea. After graduating from Delta High School in 1973 she attended Mesa College in Grand Junction.
She married Alan Ratzliff in Delta. They later divorced. She married Dan Smith of Shady Point, Okla.; the marriage ended in divorce.
Ms. Shea enjoyed embroidering, gardening, painting, skiing and swimming.
She is survived by her mother, Ozella Shea of Delta; her stepdaughter, Heather (John) Henson of Shady Point, Okla.; her brother, Steve (Becky) Shea of Delta; two sisters, Mary Shea (Al DeGrange) of Delta, and Margaret (Mitch) Harmon of Whitewood, S.D.; a brother-in-law, Larry Montgomery of Delta; two stepgrandchildren, Dayton and Kyley Henson; nieces and nephews, Robert and Sherry Henrie, Bryan and Layne Porter, all of Cedaredge, David Porter, Carrie and Brandon Love and Matt and Jackie Shea, all of Delta, and Heather and Hank Albrecht of Green River, Wyo.; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Ms. Shea was preceded in death by her father, Jack Shea; a brother, John Shea; a sister, Kay Montgomery; a nephew, Danny Montgomery; and a great-niece, Mary Albrecht.
