Another step closer to reality

Last Wednesday, the project's citizen planning committee, along with representatives of Design Concepts, presented the preliminary master plan for the project to the public.

Hotchkiss man pleads guilty to assault rifle theft

Keaton Bell, age 24, of Hotchkiss, pled guilty late last week before Senior U.S. District Court Judge John L. Kane to one count of possession of stolen firearms and ammunition, and to one count of possession of machine gun, the United States attorney's office, the Eagle County Sheriff's Office, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced. Judge Kane is scheduled to sentence Bell on Aug. 22 at 10 a.m.

Computer scam reported

The DCI has been notified by a Cedaredge area resident of a computer scam being run in the area.

The scam ran like this: A man with a heavy sub-continent accent, speaking rapidly, and who called himself "Edward" but who mumbled his last name, called a woman who lives on Cedar Mesa.
