But it's a tremendous honor, said Lance, who was nominated in the Outstanding Wine & Spirits Professional category, given to a winemaker, brewer or spirits producer who "has had significant impact on the wine and spirit industry nationwide."

Tropical transplant
Lady Jane Seymour Cartwright is likely the closest thing to royalty Delta will ever see. On her mother's side she is an English Seymour, a descendant of the Plantaganets.
Drop off brush, limbs
The City of Delta is hosting its annual Memorial Day brush drop-off for city residents. Brush, bagged leaves and tree limbs no larger than four inches in diameter can be dropped off at the Horse Country Arena, 201 Kellogg Street.
From our dairy farm
There has probably been a dairy at the same location on 2100 Road in Austin for 100 years. Andy and Polly Wick started here in 1972.
When J.B. Lopez joined the Army in September 1971, little could he have known what kind of race lay just ahead. The son of a World War II vet and a schoolteacher, First Sergeant Lopez spent the next 33 years of his life on the run, accumulating the life lessons which uniquely qualified him for his present job — teaching JROTC and coaching cross-country/track at Delta High School.
