Picture a Matchbox car. Typically, it's classified as 1:64 scale and measures 2 1/2 to 3 inches in length. Now shrink that car even further, to 1:87 scale (you might need a magnifying glass!) and picture working windshield wipers, doors that open and close, and a hood that lifts up so you can take a close look at the engine.

Jursinovic shapes each piece that goes into her pots by hand, then builds each piece inside a mold. She also turns out pieces on her pottery wheel. She has made a living by working with clay for more than 30 years and can be reached through her website, crestedbuttepottery.com.In a world of potters and a sea of ceramics it's hard to stand out in the crowd. But one look at local potter Mary Jursinovic's landscape pottery and it's instantly recognizable.

She used a glue gun, occasionally burning the ends of her fingers with the sticky residue, but hours of patience and fortitude finally paid off.Anna Marie Suppes, 96, has a passion for shells. Collecting shells has long been a hobby; now she is turning her collection into beautiful artwork.
Photos submitted A view of Carpenter’s Fishing Resort on the Gunnison River at Cebolla. The main building is the second one built following a fire that destroyed the first one. Sonny was born in a house located just out of the picture at right. The bridge at right was called the Carpenter Bridge. The main lodge building was moved to Gunnison before the area was flooded by rising waters of Blue Mesa Reservoir in the 1960s. Carpenter Ridge on the south side of Blue Mesa Reservoir overlooking Cebolla Creek is named for Sonny’s family.Sonny Carpenter was born and raised in a world that lots of people would call paradise. It's a world that is no more.
