When we moved into our home in Eckert, I wanted to have native plants. And so we planted the native pinyon pines planning on them to survive the drought, whenever it came.
On leaving Delta, we took 1600 Road, then turned onto the Trap Club Road, and followed it past the landfill. As we neared the junction with North Road, I began to carefully note the roadside vegetation.
Well, another year has rolled around, and I'm trying to think of some new way to write a column for Thanksgiving. I looked online and found something new — a turkey chick.
