"Delta County Farm Service Agency (FSA) wants to remind agricultural producers of two important deadlines to purchase Non-Insured Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP) coverage for 2014 crops. Nov. 20 is the deadline to purchase coverage for apricots, sweet cherries, tart cherries, grapes, hops, pears, plums and prunes," announced Alan Bull, county director.
Dec. 2 is the deadline to purchase coverage on alfalfa, grass and mixed forage hay, and table honey.
The Bureau of Reclamation announced that it released the final EA and Finding of No Significant Impact on the C Ditch/Needle Rock Pipeline Project in Delta County.
The project involves replacing a total of approximately 14,669 lineal feet of open irrigation ditch with buried pipe.
Urban trees along Colorado's Front Range, Eastern Plains and Western Slope are now going dormant, but they require care before and during the winter to remain in top health.
"You're doing your trees a huge favor by preparing them for cold, arid winter conditions, and making them healthier for the next growing season," said Keith Wood, community forestry program manager for the Colorado State Forest Service.
USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) Administrator Juan M. Garcia announced that the 2013 FSA County Committee Elections begin Tuesday, Nov. 4, with the mailing of ballots to eligible voters. The deadline to return the ballots to local FSA offices is Dec. 2.
