The Colorado FFA Foundation announces Hotchkiss resident Robbie Baird LeValley has been selected as the 2013 recipient of the Colorado Rising Star in Agriculture Award. This award recognizes up and coming talent and leadership in the Colorado agriculture industry as determined by members of the Colorado Agriculture Hall of Fame.
LeValley, a third-generation rancher, has served as president for the Colorado Cattlemen's Association, served on the board of directors for the Delta County Livestock Association, served as president for the Society for Range Management Colorado Chapter and currently serves on the Colorado Cattlemen's Land Trust Board. LeValley is a former Colorado State University Extension agent in the area of livestock and range management. Her contributions to the agriculture community statewide have been significant. She was active in implementing range management schools in several states, is currently active in the Gunnison Sage Grouse Working Group, serves on the Public Lands Partnership Executive Committee, Club 20, and the Colorado Woolgrowers Association, to name a few.
"Robbie has grown to be one of the most respected people in the livestock industry in Colorado," says Rhonda Follman, area extension director for CSU Extension and former supervisor of LeValley.
