Aviation honors

Photo by Hank Lohmeyer Aviation honors The general aviation North Fork Airport on Stewart Mesa between Hotchkiss and Paonia was honored on Nov. 10 as an “outstanding airport” by the Colorado Pilots’ Association. In recognition of the honor, the Board of County Commissioners presented its own recognition to the airport during its Dec. 17 meeting. Shown above at the BoCC event from left are county commissioner Bruce Hovde; Neil Schwieterman, mayor of Paonia which is a co-owner with the county of the airport; Mike Clawson, North Fork Airport manager; and county commissioners Olen Lund and Doug Atchley.
