Partners enjoyed another year of successes in Delta County. Nearly 100 children received the benefits of the Partners mentoring program.

Every year Partners of Delta, Montrose and Ouray counties sponsors a fundraiser called "turkey hands." Businesses in Delta and Montrose counties agree to make paper turkey hands available to their customers for a $1 donation to benefit Partners. The businesses display the turkey hands to show their customers' support for Partners. Thanks to local businesses, this year was another successful year.

Partners is a 25-year-old one-to-one mentoring organization in Delta, Montrose and Ouray that matches children between the ages of 6 and 17 with screened and trained adult volunteers in structured and supported mentoring relationships. The adult mentor and child are asked to spend at least three hours a week doing homework, working on projects or just having some fun together. Their relationship is supported by a dedicated Partners staff who offers assistance, encouragement and access to community resources. Partners offers monthly recreational activities like sledding and bowling to participating Partnerships. Recently Partners acquired a special opportunity for middle school girls who would benefit from tutoring in school along with a supportive and fun relationship with a mentor.
