During a meeting of mainly routine county business, the Board of Commissioners on April 15 approved some budgeted purchases including the award of a bid to a Delta carpeting contractor.
Commissioners accepted the low bid from Home Source, a first bid award for the company from the county, a staff member said.
Home Source's bid of $8,187 for carpet and installation at the county Health and Human Services Department building was about $800 lower than the second-lowest bid submitted by a Montrose company.
In other business at recent meetings, the Board of County Commissioners dealt with the following matters:
• The board approved purchase of a portable conveyor for use by the road and bridge department in its gravel crushing operations. The winning bid from Power Equipment in Grand Junction was for $19,800. The amount is $1,300 over the amount budgeted. The one other bid was also from a company in Grand Junction.
• The commissioners approved purchase of a John Deere lawn tractor from U.S. Tractor. The $5,741 cost of the new machine was discounted by $1,000 in consideration for a county trade-in of its 15-year-old machine.
• Timberline Building won a county contract to install restroom partition walls at the fairgrounds grandstand. The $12,920 project will also include installation of mirrors at Heritage Hall.
• The commissioners approved a contract with a private care provider for residential treatment care of Health and Human Services Department clients. Funding for the program comes from state and federal sources.blog comments powered by Disqus
