The Colorado Coalition Against Domestic Violence (CCADV) recently announced that Hilltop Community Resources has been selected as the Outstanding Domestic Violence Organization for 2013 and received the Purple Ribbon Award in a ceremony earlier this month. Hilltop's domestic violence programs include Tri-County Resources in Delta, Montrose and Ouray counties and Latimer House in Mesa County.
The Purple Ribbon Award for Outstanding Domestic Violence Organization is a tangible representation of the esteem in which the organization is held by its colleagues. The award recognizes and honors the outstanding and innovative work of Latimer House and Tri-County Resources to enrich the lives of people impacted by domestic violence. The award was presented June 10 at the Colorado Advocacy in Action Conference in Vail.
Both Tri-County Resources and Latimer House provide emergency shelter, individual and group counseling, advocacy, children's services and 24-hour crisis lines for those affected by domestic violence and sexual assault.
In 2012, Hilltop's domestic violence programs provided over 6,000 shelter nights to more than 400 women and children, responded to 2,500 calls to the 24-hour crisis lines, made over 100 community presentations on domestic violence and offered transitional housing services to 66 women and children escaping from domestic abuse.blog comments powered by Disqus
