After 29 years, Greg Bollig has retired from the insurance agency his father Ken opened in Delta in 1976. Greg worked for his dad as an agent in Montrose, and after Ken's passing took over both the Delta and Montrose offices.
Now the reins have been handed to Josh Applegate, who has assembled a team of agents to serve the entire county. The Montrose end of the business has been transferred to Howard Davidson.
Applegate has over 10 years of experience in the insurance and financial industries. He and his wife Jeni have lived in Delta for the past 11 years, and both have immersed themselves in the life of the community. Josh serves on the board of directors and is currently the finance officer for the Delta Area Chamber of Commerce. He and Jeni also operate the Devil's Thumb Bar and Grill. Josh is committed to making Delta a better community in which to live and do business.
"One of the advantages I offer is that I will be working here in the office every single day," Applegate said. "I look forward to getting to know every one of our policyholders."
The staff at the Delta office includes Patty Blanco, a customer service representative who is fluent in Spanish. Patty has 18 years of experience in the insurance industry and has lived in the Delta area for 20 years.
In addition to the Delta location at 270 E. Highway 92, Suite C, Josh has acquired a second location by joining forces with Lynette Pierce of the Pierce Agency in Hotchkiss. Lynette will continue working out of the Farmers office at 330 W. Bridge Street, strengthening the relationships she's developed with auto, home and business owners throughout the North Fork Valley.
Larissa Bloom is the newest member of the team. She has lived in Cedaredge for 20 years and has six years of experience in the insurance industry. She will be working out of the Hotchkiss office as well as in the Cedaredge area.
Customer service is the top priority for the Applegate team. Together, the offices serve 2,200 policyholders and Josh is looking forward to growing that number by providing outstanding customer service.
Both offices offer a full range of services, from free quotes to payment acceptance. Stop by and ask about protecting your personal assets — your auto, home, life, ATV, boat or recreational vehicle. Farmers also provides business owners with comprehensive coverage, including business, auto, workers' comp and umbrella policies.
