Deltarado Days 2013 was a big hit. Many families participated in the downtown scavenger hunt, looking for clues and finishing up with a prize bag and a chance to win a new bike. Delta Health and Wellness Center co-sponsored this event to encourage kids to get out and get moving with healthy lifestyle choices, including exercise.
Many passersby asked why call it a TRY-athlon. Mariah Emond, chair of the board, explains Delta Health and Wellness Center wanted to create a name for the event that would allow the activity to change every year so that kids could TRY something different every year. Emond reports they expect to continue to co-host this fun free event for all Deltarado Days participants ages 3-18.
"We couldn't have done it without the generous support of our community members!" she said. DHWC would like to thank co-sponsors Image 1440 Apparel, 2nd Edition, State Farm Insurance - Kevin Parks, Dr. Serena Smith and Luminosity Med Spa, TK Mining, Phillips Machine, Jolley Smiles, First Colorado National Bank, The Center for Mental Health, Hellman Chevrolet Buick, Patsy's Copy Center, Great Experiences Counseling, Isagenix - Tracy Brown, and Tread Adventure Sports.
"A special big thanks to all the kids and their families who finished the TRY-athlon!" Emond said. "We look forward to seeing you next year, and bring your friends!:blog comments powered by Disqus
