Business owners must file personal property declaration

The Delta County Assessor reminds all persons owning, possessing or controlling taxable business personal property (furnishings, equipment and other movable personal property) that the deadline for filing a Personal Property Declaration Schedule is April 15. All persons who own, possess or control taxable personal property with a total actual value greater than $7,000 per owner, per county, are required to report the personal property to the county assessor.

CASA provides voices for children experiencing the devastating effects of abuse and neglect. CASA’s mission is to break that cycle, and to advocate for safe, permanent nurturing homes for children, utilizing trained and dedicated volunteers. Commissioners create Historic Landmark Board

At the Board of County Commissioners hearing on Monday, Feb. 11, the commissioners approved a resolution establishing a Delta County Historic Landmark Board and procedures for historic landmark designation.

The creation of a county historic landmark board and a countywide historic register is not a new concept; however, such historic registers only exist in two county municipalities, Delta and Cedaredge, leaving the other incorporated towns and cities, as well as the unincorporated county, without any means to recognize and acknowledge those buildings, homes — including farms and ranches — and landmarks as being worthy of historic recognition.
