First State Bank of Colorado’s Delta locationOn April 1, First State Bank of Colorado will open a full service bank on Delta's Main Street. The building at 564 Main Street has been occupied by First State Bank since January 2008, but it's been used as a loan production office pending Federal Reserve approval.

On Saturday evening, March 16, Delta's business leaders gathered at the Delta Elks Lodge for the annual banquet of the Delta Area Chamber of Commerce.

In her "state of the chamber" report, executive director Kami Collins said that since coming on board last November, she has been visiting members and listening to their thoughts about local business conditions.

Braced for a change

Dr. Zachary Pitcher, an orthodontist with Jolley Smiles, does the honors at a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 740 Main Street in Delta. Jolley Smiles opened in Grand Junction and Fruita in 2006 and expanded to Delta after Dr. Jolley purchased the practice formerly operated by Dr. Anthony Delio. The Delta office is open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, and offers orthodontics, periodontics (dental implants, etc.), Invasalign and Invasalign Teen, reward cards, digital technology/X-rays and metal or clear braces. On Tuesday, Feb. 26, the board of directors of Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) voted to hire the National RuralElectric Cooperative Association (NRECA) to conduct a board and organizational assessment project. The organizational assessment is a comprehensive service provided by NRECA to electric cooperatives that seek an informed, objective analysis of their operational structures and procedures.
