Supporting women’s health

Curves of Delta, a local women’s fitness center, has completed its annual October fundraising drive in observance of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout the month, Curves challenged local businesses in several categories to raise funds for Delta Doves, a local non-profit organization that provides scholarship funds for mammograms to women who otherwise could not afford them. The businesses raised a total of $1,350 for the organization. Fundraising winners included Mane Image in the styling salon category, D&B Liquors in the spirits category, Papa Murphy’s in the pizza vendor category, and the Sunflower Room in the miscellaneous merchant category. Taco Time raised the most money of any business and won the restaurant category with $700. Curves wishes to thank all of the businesses which participated. A similar event is planned next year to support women’s health.
