Registration opens for Rural Philanthropy Days

Online registration is now open for Western Slope Rural Philanthropy Days (WSRPD), which takes place June 17-19 in Ouray.

Western Slope non-profits will have a unique opportunity to connect with over 30 Colorado foundations at the 2013 WSRPD conference.

DCED qualifies for Enterprise Zone Credit

Three local nonprofit organizations — Delta County Economic Development, Haven House and Crested Butte Performing Arts Center — have joined the Region 10 Enterprise Zone program as contribution entities in 2013, entitling qualified donors to earn credits on their Colorado state income taxes.

"By establishing themselves as Enterprise Zone contribution entities, these nonprofits can access greater funding support by allowing donors the opportunity to claim a state tax credit for qualified contributions," said Rhona Keckler, who coordinates the Enterprise Zone program through Region 10.

Taco Time employees recognized

Urich has been with the business in Delta for over 22 years. The Delta Taco Time was one of 81 stores receiving the Golden Cactus Award of Excellence. Store owner Orval Proctor holds that award.On March 7, Taco Time held its first co-op meeting of 2013. The meeting included recognition of franchisees, managers and crew members who have demonstrated a true commitment to daily operational excellence, store cleanliness, customer service, community involvement and overall loyalty to the Taco Time brand.

Ray Veatch will retire from American Family Insurance, 340 Meeker Street, Delta, on April 1, after 32 years of providing insurance to the citizens of Delta County. He started in 1981 with Colorado Farm Bureau, and in 1986 moved to American Family. His son, Shaun, will now lead the company. “We can insure anything that can be insured,” he said, and invites people to stop by his office to see how American Family Insurance can help with their home, auto, business or other insurance needs.

Bank of Colorado names market president

McCarthy has been with Bank of Colorado since 2004 and transferred from Durango, where she was the vice president branch manager.
