Also pictured are Kaete’s dad and Derek’s mom.On Saturday, June 1, kids aged 2-16 participated in this year's Youth Fishing Derby, held at Confluence Lake as part of Delta's fourth annual Outdoor Heritage Day.

The "Pathway to Fishing" program was carried out this year by Colorado Sportsmen Wildlife Fund.

Best of show

At a recent Delta Fine Arts exhibition, Fred Honchell’s watercolor titled “Perfect Storm” earned Best of Show honors from judge Joyce Peterson. Ribbons were also awarded to professionals Dani Tupper, first; Barb Torke, second; Manzingo, third; advanced artists Sandy Williamson, first; Linda Palmer, second; Wanda Brunemeier, third; and novices Roni Wilson, first and third; Cindy Screza, second. In the student category, Grace Chavez received first and second place. Plein aire competition resulted in first for Carol Vanceresult, second for Rae-Ann Simmons and third for Laurae Fortner-Welch.
