a01 ridethruPhoto by Pat Sunderland Make that to go, please Members of the Surface Creek Women’s Club paraded their horses through the drive-through lanes at McDonald’s last Saturday, part of an exercise to teach their horses to feel more comfortable around pedestrians and vehicles. Officer Ted Holland, a POST-certified mounted police instructor from Mountain Village, worked with the women all day Saturday. His wife graciously scooped up the deposits left by the horses as they made their way from McDonald’s to a short ride around town. Officer Holland and his mount, Comanche, work Telluride’s many festivals.

Hwy. 92, McClure Pass improvements planned

The Colorado Department of Transportation plans to add eight-foot-wide shoulders and an eastbound climbing lane on State Highway 92, one of several projects slated to be completed in the northwest section of the state.

"We will have 26 projects underway this summer and fall totaling some $145 million," said CDOT Region 3 transportation director Dave Eller.
