Electronic medical records go live Oct. 1

Emergency room nurses Linda Johnson-Rubick, Jessica Bates and Gail Gartman practice entering data in the electronic medical records system. Nurses have been going through intense training with the Meditech system for the past four weeks.
Apprehension and excitement are building at Delta County Memorial Hospital, as close to 425 physicians, nurses, lab workers and admissions/billing employees prepare to convert to electronic medical records.

The move, explains acting administrator Jason Cleckler, affects pretty much every employee and every department at Delta County Memorial Hospital.

Grants aid missions of local non-profits

Representatives of local non-profit organizations gathered at Wells Fargo Bank in Delta last week for presentation of a total $4,000 in grant awards to support local work. Recipients of grants from the 19th annual Wells Fargo Community Assistance Fund were announced recently by Sharon Taramarcaz, Wells Fargo's store manager, and Kevin Johnson and Chris Cox, Wells Fargo senior business relationship managers for Delta. Seven locally based non-profit organizations received the investments totaling $4,000.
