A treat for tired muscles
An early finisher enjoys a massage from Holly Neely as walkers approach the finish line of the Pea Green Pedal bike and fun run last Saturday. A fundraiser for the Delta County Memorial Hospital Foundation, the event offered the option of an 18- or 40-mile bike ride through Pea Green west of Delta, or a walk or run along the red rock trails of Confluence Park. As they finished, participants gathered at the Lions Pavilion to enjoy a lunch of brats, salads and beer. At the conclusion of the event, a drawing was held for a Trek bicycle donated by Cascade Bicycles of Montrose. The winner was Jay Ritter, assistant principal at Hotchkiss K-8. The DCMH Foundation raises funds for healthcare scholarships and to support the services provided by the hospital.
