DCMH receives an ‘A’ for patient safety

Delta County Memorial Hospital was honored with an "A" Hospital Safety ScoreSM by The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit run by employers and other large purchasers of health benefits. The Hospital Safety ScoreSM was calculated under the guidance of The Leapfrog Group's Blue Ribbon Expert Panel using publicly available data on patient injuries, medical and medication errors, and infections.

Just too cute in spots

While driving on the Grand Mesa last weekend Diane Webster and a friend, Dorothy Hansen, spotted a baby elk. Nearby they spotted a second calf, also in spots. Presently the mothers came along and then wandered off to join another mother and calf and two cow elk. They were very excited by the encounter, made even more special as they listened to momma and baby calling softly to each other.
