Marketing is key to future of Devil’s Thumb

Expenses at Devil's Thumb Golf Club have been cut to the bone; the only way to make the golf course viable is to increase revenues. That was the message delivered to the Delta City Council last week by Peter Elzi of THK Associates, the firm hired to conduct an operational audit of the heavily subsidized city-owned golf course.

Drivers urged to buckle up and drive sober

The state's traffic fatalities were up 19 percent during the first four months of 2012 compared to last year, according to preliminary data from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT). From Jan.1 through April 30, 2012, there were 127 fatalities reported to CDOT.
