Puttin’ on the dog

a09 caws1Photos by Pat Sunderland Puttin’ on the dog “Buster” graciously traded a frilly skirt for a walk in the park with his owner, Emily Anderson. The two took part in the walkathon to support CAWS’s adoption center last Saturday. At the conclusion of the walk, they competed in the costume contest and Emily proudly showed how she can get Buster to roll over using just hand movements. Emily’s mother said they are “true believers” in CAWS’ mission to promote adoption of unwanted dogs and cats and to reduce the number of unwanted animals through spay and neuter programs. According to CAWS, more than 50 walkers and 18 businesses participated in the annual CAWS Strut. Over $3,000 was raised in pledges, donations and in-kind contributions. To the left, Holly Wood shows us there was some tough competition in the costume contest.a09 caws2
