Quilting for a cure

Hospital employee Brittney Madsen (right) joined Debra Coble and about 20 other quilters at an event hosted by the Basket Case Quilt Guild last week. The women spent the day cutting and sewing together strips of pink fabric to create blocks for a quilt to be donated to a local non-profit organization in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The Board of County Commissioners on Monday voted to reaffirm their original specific development approvals for Western Slope Layers and Grand Mesa Layers.

The board's action comes as a result of a district court finding July 5.
