The tragic death of 12-year-old Santos Chavez, a student at Delta Middle School, resulted in an immediate response from school administrators and district staff.

The Delta Public Library, Delta Friends of the Library, VFW Post 3571 and its Ladies Auxiliary are partnering for an annual support the troops campaign. They request donations from Delta area citizens for care package items and monetary donations for purchasing calling cards to be sent to service personnel stationed overseas to allow them to call loved ones at home during the coming holiday season.
