Last week, work crews were installing replacement instruments that measure the rate of ground movements and any "slippage" of the dam structure from its foundation.

Photo by Hank Lohmeyer Over 300 people came to the Cedaredge Community Center on May 9 to get information about expanded natural gas service being offered by SourceGas in previously unserved areas around the town. The company provided free, barbecue-style cookout meals for everyone attending the eight-hour-long event.SourceGas will make a $3.7 million investment over the next year expanding its distribution infrastructure in Surface Creek Valley around Cedaredge.

Company representatives explained to the Delta County Independent that the big investment is not a speculation on future growth prospects.
