Friends of Paonia Library was running out of space to store their increasing donated stock of good used paperbacks, hardbacks, DVDs, audio books and other media. This week they had an additional "Books Too" shed built directly behind the first "Book Barn" next to the Paonia Library Community Room entrance.
The 12'x16' Tuff Shed was delivered and installed on-site in one day, on Oct. 4. A number of Friends of the Library were on hand to volunteer help as needed, and overseen by Jon Schulz and Judy Martin. Jon and his wife Jane will spear- head the set up of the books in the new shed, which will be used primarily for storing paperbacks and donated books not yet sorted. It is hoped the additional space will also allow more sorting by category and author to make book purchasing easier. Solar lights will be added to both book barns by November. With the additional space, more and wonderful books should be available for the coming sale..
The Fall Book Sale on Saturday, Oct. 13, from 9 a.m. through 4 p.m., will be held in the Community Room and the Book Barn. There will be free coffee and snacks for the early birds and to help celebrate the new Book Too.blog comments powered by Disqus
