Thanksgiving sharing

Paonia Junior High Social Studies classes, under the direction of Kirsten Saunders, Tonya Pipher, and Lindsay Prendergast, processed 40 pounds of apples donated by Austin Family Farms. The students created 30 pies from scratch, rolling out the dough and baking these pies to observe Thanksgiving. They were led through a series of safe food practices, manners and etiquette, capitalizing upon the true meaning of giving. After lunch, the students indulged in some of the pies, then delivered the remainder to Paonia Care and Rehabilitation.
