CBI investigating Paonia finance case

The case of alleged misuse of funds by the former Town of Paonia finance officer Kristin Chesnik continues to be an ongoing investigation according to Colin Reese, agent in charge of investigations for the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Reese said the bureau is leading the investigation, but declined providing any further information at this time.

Sherry McKenzie, spokesperson for the Office of the District Attorney Seventh Judicial District, said the case is not yet in their office pending completion of CBI's investigation.
