Christie Young, in a letter to Mayor Susie Steckel and fellow trustees, tendered her resignation from the Crawford Town Council effective April 1.
Young made the announcement at the March 6 council meeting.
She had won a two-year term as trustee in the last election. Young will complete one year of her term.
The town made no announcement about seeking letters of interest to fill the vacancy.
Young wrote, "My expanding work load and my wish to pare down the number of activities I take on aside from work are the [basis] of this decision. It is strictly personal and comes with a good measure of regret."
Young described serving on the council as a very positive experience. "I have enjoyed the teamwork, debate and mutual respect that characterizes this council. I am also proud of the work we have done over the past year and the many significant issues we've tackled and resolved .... Thank you all for your friendship and support."
