Bee Yard Gardens closes

Former Crawford mayor and co-owner of Bee Yard Gardens, Jim Crook, requested changing from a commercial to a residential water user. Crook said with two owners, he and Donna Spencer, on oxygen, it made no sense to continue with their popular garden store.

The decision was to retire and close the business rather than sell it to someone else.

The council agreed that since the property was no longer to be used for commercial purposes, water should be charged at the residential rate.

Bee Yard Gardens was located at 711 Highway 92 in Crawford.
