Conservation Center wins $5,000 grant

The National Jewish Health Foundation's Clean Air Projects Program has awarded the Western Slope Conservation Center a $5,000 grant to coordinate a Student Air Quality Monitoring Program in the North Fork Valley.

The project will be operated in partnership with volunteers, local schools and University of Colorado at Boulder.

Students will create a study design with professional researchers, collect and analyze air quality data, and develop recommendations based on their findings. The data will be incorporated into a three-year-long state-wide research project designed by CU Boulder faculty to evaluate the human health impacts linked to air pollution from large-scale oil and gas development.
