The Creamery Arts Center will present a tribute to local artist Mary Green with an opening reception in their Peach Gallery, Friday, July 12, from 6-8 p.m.
Mary passed away April 16, 2012 at the age of 98.
She held many offices as charter and lifetime member of the Delta Fine Arts Association. Many remember her and how she was an active participant in many DFA meetings and exhibits, especially in the openings of the Annual Delta Fine Arts Shows. She was also a past president of The North Fork Council on the Arts and Humanities.
Mary was a prolific artist in several mediums and shared her talents throughout the community, encouraging many young artists in the process.
The Delta Fine Arts Association members have elected to start an on-going memorial that will carry on this tribute to Mary.
The Creamery is pleased to feature some of Mary Green's work and other pieces collected by her. All will be for sale in a silent auction during the month of July.
Delta Fine Arts Association will use the proceeds from the auction sales for establishing a "Mary Green Scholarship Fund" to benefit artists throughout the community.
Come for an evening of remembrance, hors d'oeuvres, micro brews, local wines, fine art and good conversation honoring one of Delta County's finest.
The Creamery Arts Center is located at 165 W. Bridge Street in Hotchkiss. It is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
This exhibit will run through Aug. 5.blog comments powered by Disqus
