KVNF will be operating the Radio Roadhouse at the 2013 BMW Motorcycle Club of Colorado Top O' The Rockies Motorcycle Rally to be held in Paonia July 25-27. The concession will be the site for beer and wine sales at the park during the rally. In choosing the name, Radio Roadhouse, KVNF is highlighting the connection between the visiting riders and the KVNF community.
"The Beemer community is a very close community of riders that celebrates the joy of riding and travel," said Brian Cambria, KVNF's Radio Roadhouse coordinator, and himself a BMW motorcycle owner. "Their culture stresses support of each rider and the communities where they rally."
The Radio Roadhouse will feature a variety of Colorado beers and wines, including Paonia's own award-winning Revolution Brewing, as well as Colorado Native, made with all-Colorado-grown ingredients. Plans also include hard cider from Big B's Fabulous Juices, grown and produced in the North Fork Valley. A variety of wines from the West Elks AVA will round out the adult beverages offered.
The beer garden at the rally has been operated by the American Legion for the last 14 years, but this year the legion elected to focus on other activities.
Hours of operation will be Thursday through Saturday, July 25-27, opening around 2 p.m. and going until midnight, if the demand is there. The Radio Roadhouse will be located in the southeast corner of the brick pavilion. Visit the Ellen Hansen-Smith Center for event registration information.
Paonia Town Park has been the site of the rally for many years. The Beemers camp in tents throughout the park and line their bikes up around the perimeter. Non-riders are attracted to the park to see the amazing variety of motorcycles, old and new.
"Sometimes it's like a museum," said Cambria. "Some of these guys put a great deal of work into restoring old bikes to like-new condition. They're beautiful."
The BMW Motorcycle Club of Colorado was organized in 1973. In addition to hosting the world-renowned Top O' The Rockies Rally in Paonia for the past 22 years, it hosts a number of rides on some of the most spectacular roads in America. The rally generously provides support and donations to host towns and is an important partner in promoting safety and community.blog comments powered by Disqus
