Attend a public meeting on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Memorial Hall in Hotchkiss to find out how to help achieve permanent protection from oil and gas development in the North Fork Valley. There will be an update on parallel efforts to ensure that the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) puts the strongest possible management in place in its new plan.
Western Slope Conservation center and Citizens for a Healthy Community believe the strongest management plan is the one outlined in the North Fork Alternative plan. The two organizations are sponsoring the meeting.
The BLM's draft plan is currently scheduled to be released this fall or winter, for at least 90 days of public comment.blog comments powered by Disqus
