The North Fork Ambulance is made up of ordinary people, doing extraordinary things, everyday.
"Please consider becoming a driver or an EMT for your community.
New volunteers are needed, not only to help share the load, but to secure and maintain quality Emergency Medical Service based within our own communities," said director Kathy Steckel.
This year Paonia and Crawford are especially in need of volunteers to become certified EMTs. A minimum of eight students are required to be able to offer an EMT class in Paonia. Held at the Delta Montrose Technical College Paonia campus and starting in January, this class is ideal for North Fork Valley students and local instructors.
The training costs over $2,000 now and financial assistance is available through the North Fork Ambulance, which in itself can be considered an extraordinary opportunity!
Applications to volunteer and applications for financial assistance will be taken at the Nov. 7 or the Dec. 5 North Fork Ambulance board meetings.
