The Cherry Days committee put on a successful event last Fourth of July, and is looking forward to a spectacular event for 2014. About half a dozen members have committed to returning to serve on the committee this year while others have left.
This is your opportunity to get involved in one of Paonia's long-standing traditions.
All those who have an interest in helping create and produce Cherry Days 2014 are invited to attend a community meeting on Thursday, Jan. 23, at 6 p.m. at the Ellen Hansen-Smith Teen Center in Paonia Town Park. Come to listen, to share and to join Cherry Days 2014.
For more information on specific positions available, call Natalie Gladbach at 527-8277.
Here's a list of positions the committee wants to fill and events to work on: entertainment director and co-director, sponsorships, old time children's fair, craft vendor coordinator, food vendor coordinator, website management, Cherry Day booth, parade, finances and budget, make and market Cherry Days buttons, advertising, beer and wine garden, reunions, community liaison, royalty, 5k run, cherry pie eating, baking contest and auction, logo competition, coal shoveling contest, car show, recycling and security.
If you can see yourself involved in any of those, be sure to attend the Jan. 23 community meeting at the teen center.blog comments powered by Disqus
