CHC appeals drilling permit decision

Citizens for a Healthy Community (CHC) has filed an appeal with the U.S. Forest Service on May 2 over the agency's decision to approve a drilling proposal for a site located in critical wildlife habitat in the Gunnison National Forest.

Last summer, SG Interests applied for a permit to drill up to five gas wells in the National Forest, near County Road 265.

The Hotchkiss Town Council always provides in their annual budget for donations to support local organizations.

At their April 11 council meeting, the trustees had three donation requests.
