Final Friday fun

Kayla Miller, 8, shows friends a necklace she liked during the Final Friday Art Walk. Kayla was hanging out with sister Sadie and dad Rob. The last Friday of each month through September, local businesses and artists will offer music, artwork, food, comedy and more between 5 and 8 p.m. The event is sponsored by the North Fork Valley Creative Coalition.

Hotchkiss man pleads guilty to assault rifle theft

Keaton Bell, age 24, of Hotchkiss, pled guilty late last week before Senior U.S. District Court Judge John L. Kane to one count of possession of stolen firearms and ammunition, and to one count of possession of machine gun, the United States attorney's office, the Eagle County Sheriff's Office, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced. Judge Kane is scheduled to sentence Bell on Aug. 22 at 10 a.m.
