Photo by Kathy Browning Miss Frankenstein Seven-year-old Samantha “Sammi” Beck came as Frankenstein to the Hotchkiss High School FFA Halloween Party at Heritage Hall last Wednesday. “It matches her personality,” her dad laughed. “That’s all her natural hair right there!” Trick-or-treaters had a whole roomful of games to play and prizes to win at the annual event, a Hotchkiss tradition.

West Elk Mountain Rescue was called out at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4, to search for a lost hunter up Clear Fork Creek north of the Muddy Creek at the base of McClure Pass. The 60-year-old male from the Front Range had been missing since Saturday at 2:20 p.m.
