Thirty-five runners showed up for 5k or 10k trail runs on the Jumbo Trail system east of Paonia on Sunday morning, Sept. 30, for the Mountain Harvest Festival trail run.

Fifteen runners chose the 5k loop which was won by Eli Etter in 28 minutes and 13 seconds.

The Hotchkiss Community United Methodist Church is trying new technology and worship services to better meet the diverse spiritual needs of the community.

Pastor John Hiestand began using a projector and a portable screen for lyrics.
